Hi, we're Waku
Waku (say it WAH-koo) comes from wakuwaku, a Japanese word for that fluttery feeling right before something good. The moment before a ride. The moment you open a new jar. We think skincare should feel like that more often.
So we built a calm, happy corner of the internet to explore skincare. The fun is in the discovery. Underneath, every topic is researched all the way down: ingredient lists, studies, brand facts and thousands of buyer reviews, boiled down into something you can actually use.
One topic at a time
We don't chase every launch. We pick one subject, like sunscreen or retinol, and stay with it until the page answers what people really ask about it. Then we move to the next one. A topic page explains how something works, clears up the myths, lays out the products side by side and helps you fit it into your routine.
You won't find a winner at the top. Skin is too personal for that. Every worthy product gets a fair shot, and you pick the one that fits your skin.
Meet the guides
Juno loves ingredients, Sunny builds routines and Mimi hunts for value. They're Waku's characters, not real people or doctors, just friendly guides through the research. They give each topic a point of view, and the research behind them is real. Say hi to them here.
What we'll never do
- Play doctor. When something sounds medical, we'll tell you to see a dermatologist.
- Scare you into buying anything, or rush you with fake deadlines.
- Promise results we can't check.
- Make anyone feel bad about their skin.
Who it's for
Anyone who loves skincare, or wants to. Label readers, routine builders, bargain hunters and treat-yourself types are all welcome. We write for every age and every skin tone.
Want to know how a topic gets made? Here's how we work. Got a question or a correction? Say hi.
